Negotiating Points

Once a type of shared use arrangement for water resources has been proposed, there are several individual components that must be agreed upon. Factors such as who is responsible for maintaining infrastructure and what will happen to it after the end of the extractive industry closure phase, need to be agreed upon from the beginning. Failure to agree and formalize these factors at the outset will lead to tensions and conflict in the future.

The points of negotiation table describe the types of points of negotiation for shared use in water resources and infrastructure.
