Once a shared-use arrangement for transportation infrastructure has been proposed, there will be several individual components that must be agreed upon. Factors such as who will maintain certain infrastructure and what will happen to it after the end of the closing phase for the extractive industry, need to be agreed upon from the beginning. Failure to formalize and agree upon these factors at the outset will likely lead to tensions and conflict in the future.
